Crazy Weather

These pics are from August 2nd. It was a nice hot day all day...and then we decided to have a BBQ. Half way through cooking the burgers and corn, it started to rain so we moved the BBQ under the eves. Then it started to pour so we began moving everything inside but by the time it was done we had hail covering the ground and there were flash flood warnings on the TV.

The Terrible Twos?

So we thought that Jackson had already hit the terrible twos and that we had it under control. We learned recently that this was not the case. Jackson has a strong opinion about things and is now testing the limits daily. It is an interesting time at our house right now. Jack has started 'throwing tantrums' with full on fits of kicking, screaming, and throwing himself onto the floor, which is especially fun when we're out in public trying run errands. We now have time out on the naughty mat. I bought a little rug so he has a specific spot that his for him, so that he knows why he is sitting there. He has to sit for one minute (one minute for each year of age). He already knows the routine. He knows that he can't get up until he hears the buzzer, that he will have to "apologize" when he gets the word down and he always gives a hug after. He actually runs in for the hug...it's hard to be "upset" with him when he is so stinkin' cute. This week he has been in time out for pouring out the dogs water, hitting, pinching faces out of frustration, and my "favorite..." running into the street. We always give a warning first and I know he is still learning what this all means but I think he will soon start listening to the warning and listen to us!! Maybe...someday... I know you are all laughing at me right now but I have to have faith in the system.
